Sevens Tournament
After a break of approximately 20 years Windsor RFC resurrected the WINDSOR 7s in April 2008. For the past four years, Windsor RFC has finished its season with a full day of fast and flowing 7s rugby with 20 mens and 8 ladies sides taking part.
In 2008 the tournament attracted a good cross section of teams from club sides such as Ruislip, Redingensians & Oakmedians, also invitation sides such as Apache and the Badgers, but also social sides made up from local businesses.
With the 2008 event, which was sponsored by Hifx, being a great success, 2009 saw the standard of teams improve with the addition of sides such as the Marchwood Sharks, The Marauders and the Convenant Brothers joining in the fun.
The 2010 event continued at the same standard with high quality 7s being played throughout the whole day. The winning teams, who all won £1000 of kit from joint sponsor Kukri, for the past three years were as follows
April 2008 – Mens – Oakmedians RFC Ladies – Richmond RFC
April 2009 – Mens – Apache Ladies – Richmond RFC
April 2010 – Mens – Redingensians RFC Ladies – Richmond RFC

WINDSOR 7s Saturday 28th April 2012
Following the success of last year’s Windsor Sevens, we are going to do it all again!! In addition to a Mens competition, we will again be running a Ladies competition. The tournament will take place on Saturday 28th April 2012 with prizes of Kukri Sports Wear to both the Mens & Ladies winning teams of the main competition.
The format of the Men’s tournament will be four leagues of five teams, after which there will be Semi- Finals and Finals in the Cup, Plate, Shield & Vase. It is anticipated that each team will play a least four games.
The format of the Ladies tournament will be two leagues of four teams, after which there will be Semi Finals & Final.
With 74 games to be played the day starts early for the men with their first pool games starting at 10:30am and the ladies starting at 12:30. With the benefit of five pitches, the finals are played at approximately 17:30.
